Dear Parents,
Our Outdoor Performing Arts Sessions have been fantastic throughout June! Watch this space as we will be sending an email out this week about some more Outdoor Performing Arts Sessions and workshops which we hope to hold during the Summer Holidays.
Our Lamda Students have been working really hard this week learning their pieces, ready for their exams in November. If you’d still like to join in our Lamda Zoom then just drop us a line as it’s not too late!
We hope you find the time this week to enjoy some of the activities below…….

Stage Door Activities!
1         Rewrite the ending of a story!!
Last year in our Senior Show our Contemporary dances performed a dance to “ Rewrite the stars”….. Why not try and rewrite the ending of a popular story! Pick a book you’ve just put down or a Disney film and see if you can come up with an alternative ending!!! Use your imaginations….you’ll be surprised with what you can come up with!! Imagine if one of the Ugly Sisters in Cinderella ended up marrying the Prince?!!
 2        Pet Shop
During our Outdoor Sessions this week some of our Primary group did some fantastic Animal improvisations!!  This week why not perform or write a scene set in a Pet shop!!! You could be the owner of the shop, a customer or one of the animals!!! Maybe a scene set in a fish tank or a conversation between a Lizard and a Hamster!!
3         Memory Lane…….

Can you write a poem, momologue or a song based on a memory? Maybe even create a dance piece? Music is a great way to spark our memories!  It could be about last Christmas, your first day at school, a fantastic holiday, loved one,  or even our Stage Door Show rehearsals! Why not record your work, film it or write it down. We’d love to see what you can come up with!!
4         Chat Show Host!!

Can you create your own chat show? Interview your parents, brothers, sisters or even the dog! Give your hosts a character and create a set in your living room for your chat show. You could even draw or paint a sign with the name of your show. What type of host would you be? Is it a breakfast show? A news show? A comedy show?  Create your own costume and dress up……We’d love you to send us a picture!!
5        More Tongue Twisters!!!

If you’ve been having Lamda lessons on zoom or had a one to one session,  then you’ll know that we always start with warming up our voices by doing lots of Tongue Twisters and Articulation exercises!! Here’s a few more for you to try out at home with the family!!

  • 1. Eleven benevolent elephants.
  • 2. She sees cheese.
  • 3. Six sticky skeletons.
  • 4. Truly rural.
  • 5. Which witch is which?
  • 6. Six sleek swans swam swiftly southwards.
  • 7. Scissors sizzle, thistles sizzle.
  • 8. A happy hippo hopped and hiccupped.
  • 9. Cooks cook cupcakes quickly.
  • 10. Twelve twins twirled twelve twigs.
  • 11. A snake sneaks to seek a snack.
  • 12. If a dog chews shoes, whose shoes does he choose?
We look forward to seeing some of you at our sessions this week and we’ll also be sending some information out very soon about the Summer Performing Arts Workshops!!!
